Attention all Artists!  ArtWorks of Martinsville is sponsoring A plein air paint out October 3, 2009 to start off our 50th anniversary Fall Foliage Festival the fee is small to enter and the rewards are great! So join us for a fun filled day of painting and friendship.

This contest is open to artists of all ages, whether amateur or professional. Using their own supplies, participants create original artwork in any medium listed below. The entry fee is $25.00 for adults, payable before September 15, 2009 . Children 12 & Under, and Age 13 to 16, may enter free of charge. All artists, whatever their age, must pre-register to participate. monetary awards and ribbons are as follows, 1st place $200.00, 2nd place $175.00, 3rd place $125.00, in each category. One Best of Show overall, $500.00. Prizes are donated by local merchants.

Adult  - Oil Painting with Ron Mack
August 21 & 22nd, 2009 Friday & Saturday

9:00am - 3:00pm both days
Class Fee:  $80.00 ($90.00 if you would like for us to supply you lunch both days) Must pay to register for this class.   **Note Class will meet at 89 S. Main Street First Christian Church Basement.

Ron, a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, is an artist and instructor. He is well known for his detailed still life paintings before he became interested in the beauty of the outdoors. He is now recognized for his familiar and nostalgic landscapes. He conducts workshops and teaches art classes at the Southside Art League in Greenwood. He is represented in many private and corporate collections and has had many acquisition awards for permanent collections. He has been awarded distinctions as an artist, and feels his greatest accomplishment was to be part of the Painting Indiana: 92 Counties project.  Won't you join Ron and ArtWorks for this exceptional class.  Online Registration

Adult - Pastel Landscape Painting with Donna Shortt - October 17th, 2009Saturday

9:00-3:00pm  Class Fee $65.00 Class Size Limited some supplies needed contact ArtWorks for Supply list Donna will sell students the pastel paper needed in class. 

** Students requested to bring photos for reference for landscape painting for class. 

 Donna Shortt is a life-long Indiana resident and self taught in the use of oils, watercolors, pastels and acrylics.  She enjoys painting Plein air landscapes and light-filled still life sets.  She is a member of Hoosier Salon, Indiana Artists Club, Indiana Heritage Arts, Southside Art League and Indiana Plein Air painters.  Won't you join Donna and let her show you the ins and outs of pastel landscapes.   Online Registration

We feature original paintings, prints, cards and three dimensional work, as well as lessons, supplies and gifts.  Our goal is to market art work of good quality for the collector and a place to purchase unique gifts. We will offer classes, individual and group lessons, and bring in special guest artists for workshops. We will also host receptions and be available as a meeting place for service organizations, showers etc.

Cost is $15.00 per student

We supply the houses all different sizes and shapes, we will also supply the paint, you just have to supply the imagination.  Online Registration

Adult - Watercolor Yupo Class
July 25, 2009 - Saturday
10:00am - 4:00pm
Cost is $30.00 per student

This class is suitable for anyone beginner to advanced! We will do a small project in the morning then after lunch I will set you free to create to your hearts content and use your own ideas and skill.  "Spring Meadow" will be the project this time.
