Ongoing Artworks Activities for 2008!

Individual Youth Art Lessons - Can be scheduled to suit your child's schedule.  Older youth, grades 7 and up are welcome in many of the "adult" classes.

Home School Classes - Home School Classes will end for the summer in May and start again after Labor Day. (Wednesday Afternoons)

Art Critique - Meets the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.  This is a chance to relax and visit with other artists, have a cup of coffee and bring your "works in progress" for discussion and suggestions in a positive, supportive atmosphere.  Open to older youth and adults of all skill levels.

Wednesday Morning's Adult Oil Workshops - Are ongoing on Wednesday morning from 10:30am - 12:30pm. with Nancy Maxwell.  Cost is $10.00.  Bring your own supplies and paint with Nancy!

Thursday's Adult Oil Workshops - Are ongoing every Thursday morning from 10:30am - 12:30pm and 5:00pm - 7:00pm respectively.  Cost is $10.00.  Bring your oils and come paint with Linda!

Beginning Stained Glass Workshop with Dorothy Glass

Class Fees:  $95.00 Includes Supplies
Learn the basics of Stain Glass, from cutting, foiling, and soldering to finish a piece of Stain Glass with instructor Dorothy Glass.  This is a great workshop for adults and older youths that want to try their hand at stained glass. Online Registration

Yupo Painting with Watercolor with Sue St. John

Art and Attic Sale - Sidewalk Chalk for Kids!
June 7th, 2008

It's been a long winter and we artists have accumulated a lot of old frames, paintings, prints, garage sale items an other goodies so we are going to be putting them out for sale!  So stop by and pick up some good sale stuff!  Also we will be having a "Summer" Sidewalk Chalk for the kids.  Come in and sit a while and let your kids paint the town!

"Beaded Baubles" Class with Sally Hedges
June 10th & 11th, 2008 from 6:30pm - 8:00pm
This is a 2 evening class.  Cost is $40.00 and includes supplies.

Students will be decorating either two wine glasses or a set of salt and pepper shakers!  Okay you've seen them sparkling in ArtWorks window sills and ever wanted to know how Sally makes them?  Come join Sarah (Sally) Hedges in instruction and fun in this two day evening class.  Online Registration

Painting on Glass
August 23rd, 2008 - Saturday

Class Fees:  $40.00 plus $12.00 Supply Kit

Come have fun painting two glasses with glass paint and create a unique treasure for yourself or as a gift.  Online Registration

Bisque Bowl Painting
September 6th & 13th, 2008 - Saturday
Cost $15.00 class Fee includes bowl, glazing supplies, and firing of bowl.  All lead free

Come decorate a bisque bowl, we'll fire it and you can return on October 11th and have a bowl of fresh soup and crackers or breadsticks on us!  Par of the proceeds of this fun class to go to the Martinsville Senior Center.  We are also asking local personalities to come in and donate their time and talent to decorate a bowl for the Senior Center.  Online Registration

Plein Air Painting with Mary Ann Davis

Fall Foliage Festival Sidewalk Chalk Painting for Kids, Face Painting, and Bisque Bowl Soup Day!

Join us in a fun packed day of Sidewalk Chalk Painting, or get your face painted like a tiger.  If you just want to relax and enjoy a bowl of soup on us come in buy a bowl created by a "local personality".  Guaranteed one of a kind, and have a fresh bowl of homemade soup and breadsticks or crackers.  Part of the proceeds of the bowls sales to go to our Martinsville Senior Center so won't you join us?

Abstract Painting with Linda Meyer-Wright

Watercolor Painting with Nationally Known Artist Rob O'Dell

Entry Day for our Second Annual Christmas Art Show!
Friday - November 21st through 26th, 2008
10:00am - 7:00pm
Adult Entries are $5.00, Students are $2.00
"It's a good time to Eat" is the title of our second Annual Art Show.

Bring in a painting of anything "Good to Eat", deserts, candy, turkey dinners, any food stuff and all our mouths will be watering before the end of the show!  Ribbons and prizes like last year, first, second and third ribbons and $50.00 best of show award!  Paintings can be for sale if you like, we charge only a 20% commission on all sales.

Pick up dates are December 16th, 2008 with all pieces to be removed by Christmas.  This is only our second Christmas show and we know we have a lot of talented people out there so start painting and come enter!

Second Annual Christmas Art Show

"It's a Good Time to Eat" is the title of this year's show.  Artists use their creative talents to create and paint their favorite meals, snacks, treats, and candy or just about anything good to eat!  Won't you check out the ribbons, best of show, and join us for snacks and coffee.
